Cornell Village Public School is named after the beautiful village of Cornell. The school has quickly become one of the major hubs for community life and ongoing life-long learning. The school motto, "Cornell Develops Character", is based on one of the major priorities in the School Plan. The school mascot is the "Cornell Cobra".

Bur Oak Secondary School officially opened in the spring of 2008. The school will hold students living within the Greensborough and Cornell communities until a school is built in their area. The proposed opening dates of these schools are yet to be determined.

New School Openings

Markham District High School is preparing for a rebuild. To accommodate this, students entering Grade 9 will attend the new Bur Oak Secondary School.
